RealEarth™ watermarks images that meet certain criteria or exceed certain thresholds for each user session. The watermaks get darker relative to how much the session exceeds the given threshold. Watermarked images will be returned with a RE-Watemark header indicating the reason for the watermark.

Referer not allowed
- The imagery is being requested by a website that is not registered to a User Account.
- Edit the list of allowed referers in your User Account and attach your Access Key to each request.
All requests for imagery from the website will count toward the registered user’s thresholds.

Pixel volume exceeded
- The volume threshold for anonymous users is 500 megapixels per 24 hour rolling window.
- Logging in increases the threshold to 1,000 megapixels.
- Higher pixel volumes require a paid upgrade to RealEarth™ Plus.
Pixel volume is dependent on the number of products layered into an image request.

Size limit exceeded
- The size threshold for anonymous users is 1,024 pixels in either dimension.
- Logging in increases the threshold to 2,048 pixels.
- Larger imagery requires a paid upgrade to RealEarth™ Plus.
Successive geographically adjacent image requests will cumulatively count toward the threshold.
